About Bath1

Accessibility

Bath1 should work for everyone, on any device. Here's what we do, and how to tell us if something gets in your way.

Our aim

We build Bath1 to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice that means:

  • text that contrasts clearly with its background, including small labels;
  • everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline;
  • real links and buttons, labelled form fields, and logos named for screen readers;
  • links to organisers' sites say when they open in a new tab;
  • tap targets at least 44 pixels on phones, and text that can be zoomed;
  • no movement when your device is set to reduce motion;
  • the full events list still works with JavaScript turned off.

How we check

We test each page type with automated checks (Google Lighthouse scores every page 100 for accessibility) and by hand on phones and desktop. We're still adding to these checks, so please tell us if we've missed something.

Known limits

Events link to organisers' own websites, which we don't control and which may be less accessible. Some logos are supplied by organisers and may contain small text; the organiser's name is always written out next to them.

Tell us about a problem

If anything on Bath1 is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, email hello@bath1.co.uk. Tell us the page and what happened, and we'll reply within five working days.
